I remember the day when I wrote So Gone. It was a rainny day and I had a pretty serious hangover. I had spent the night drinking my sadness away somewhere, like I used to do back then. I had the melody already but I didn't have any lyrics just jet. So I pressed the "Rec" button on my pc and I started huming over, and singing whatever came to my mind. I ended up improvisating both. And never changed a word of it. It came out of the blue... or straight from the heart, deppending if you're a realistic-earthy person or more of a romantic person. My producer did a beautiful arrangment for it, lush piano and emotive instruments all over it. It just wasn't my song as beautiful as it might have sounded, I discarded it. Which is clear it's that So Gone is a really personal story, one which hurted. And that can only mean that it's honest, or that it was when I wrote it anyway.

I wrote most of the album being awfully sad and the rest being really happy and optimistic. I guess that's what makes it kinda diverse. But that's what I'm like: diverse (probably an euphemistic term to say I'm not the most stable human being in the world). And honestly, I'm proud of that. I've never liked stable, 100% rational, and obviously good people. I admire nothing about them, and would never like to be one of them. Would much rather be an anti-hero of some kind than that.

There's something about misery, sadness, and general darkness that is so appealing to me. Probably an attraction to the dangerous, or hopefully quite the contrary. I click inmediately with a sad love song, and villians are just so damn attractive I end up falling in love with them or wanting to be them. Loosers are always more interesting than those who had everything going on with them, but they're too thick to build from it. I would much rather hear someone sing about how they fucked up over something important than how sexy they feel or how much they're going to dance tonight. Guess it's part of growing up and turning more and more into a cynic as days go by. Hope I've managed to refflect that well enough on my tracks. We all have a dark side, and that's the side I like the most, the most human of all our aspects and therefore the most real of them all.

I just hate when people try hard, and that's why I haven't tried being anything that I'm not on this album at all. That's the whole point of this otherwise absurd post and not so absurd (hopefully) album of mine, which is well... me.

Summer time and the livin' is easy...

Besos y abrazos

Hey again!

I know it's been a while since the last time, but you know how summer is... everything is calmed and rather boring (but not quite).

Quick news:

-The album is all arranged now. The whole 10 tracks have been arranged, and they're ready to be recorded by the musicians by the end of august-early september. I can't wait! The very last song we arranged has changed so much from it's early vibe (it's no longer a classic bossa, it's very...different and quite dancy) I think it'll be one of your favourites. I'm currently workin on a spanish version of it as it was originally written in english.

-Everything is ready for "No fui yo - The Remixes" launch in November. My restless friend Robert Bonet has given me the promo dates I'll be attending in Catalonia, and I guess I'll better start thinking about what stories to tell in each interview! There will be various parties, but it's still to early to tell anything so you'll have to wait a bit more. The remixes are really cool!!

-Chat de Gouttière is shaping up, but just like me he doesn't really like the summer, so he's resting in the shadow somewhere.

-OH! I finally got my picture with the spanish Princes! (something I've really talked about in this blog and I don't know why). You can see it on this post.

-I've recorded more ads, there's been a bit of Gospel Factory action, but summer was made to rest...even if it's every now and then.

I'm really thankful for every visit on my Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, etc... Here on the right column you can find every single link to join me on those cool sites. I'm constantly on Twitter, so I'll be happy to Twit your brains out (Be warned, I twit a lot)

See you again soon!!

xoxo
